The world’s worst war criminal

Joseph Kony is the worst living criminal. He abducts children and hands them guns to kill other people, even their parents. He uses the girls as sex slaves. The children he abducted are called the Lord’s Resistance Army, also known as, The LRA. He has abducted over 30,000 children and uses them as kid soldiers in Central Africa. He remains at large because he is practically invisible to the whole world. That’s why we’re making him famous. Let us make him famous to stop his crimes.

We go all out for the end of the year Solar System Unit. We’ve just finished our CST and finally have time for lots and lots of Science. We do a planet research project (that’s posted on the cabinets). I take a white construction paper and cut it into a circle. My students’ writing is behind and its also cut into a circle (draft, graphic organizer, etc). Then they paint their planet and staple it all together. We do marshmallow constellations and put some glow and the dark paint on them and put them on the ceiling. We make planets out of paper mache. Posted on the front wall at the top are our aliens. Students draw (in oil pastels) what an alien would look like on their planet. For Math, we find our weight on each planet. For our Solar System Projects, I send home a simple letter saying that students can make a Solar System diorama or a Robot, their choice. I got some really creative ones made out of cake!
